Is the Lean Master program right for me?

If you are leading Lean efforts and want to take on more of a leadership position, our Lean Master program will help build your knowledge and facilitation skills to do just that. Lean Masters play a critical role in driving quantifiable improvements and instilling a culture of continuous improvement throughout their organizations.

What prerequisites do I need to enroll in the Lean Master program?

Participants must be certified as a Advanced Lean Leader or have the equivalent knowledge and experience in order to enroll in the Lean Master program.

What is required to complete the program?

The Lean Master program includes education, assessments and applied project work. To gain certification, candidates must:

  • Complete Advanced Lean and three other master classes from a list of electives.
  • Achieve a 90 percent or higher grade on the Lean exam.
  • Lead and complete three Kaizen events in the workplace.
  • Lead and complete an End-to-End Value Stream Assessment
  • Submit a report that documents each completed Kaizen event.
  • Mentor Lean facilitators as they lead a total of nine Kaizen events.
  • Be recommended for certification by a Lean Methods Group Lean Master.

How long does it take to complete a Lean Master?

Because the program offers flexibility in its self-paced format, candidates can take from 8 months to 2 years to complete the program.

Will any of my previous course or project work carry over?

Yes! If you are a certified Lean Methods Group Lean Leader, your certification projects counts toward Lean Master project requirements, and any exam scores of 90 percent or higher will count toward the exam requirement. Completed Lean Methods Group courses that fall under the Lean Master electives may also apply.

What kind of support do I receive?

All certification programs are managed and supported by Lean Methods Group Lean Masters, recognized as some of the best process excellence educators in the industry. As a candidate in the program, you would have a designated Lean Methods Group Lean Master program manager who helps guide you through the process.
